ZOOM! In Office Teeth Whitening
... everyone at 8:23. Selfies are prompting people to pay closer attention to their smile now more than ever.
Just in time, a new treatment is available to help whiten and brighten teeth. Melissa Wilson talks to Dr. Spiker Davis about one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures.
Javier Jose is trying how to figure out the safest and easiest way to bleach his teeth. He says he wants those choppers whiter. You have an idea for him?
Well, we have the latest and greatest bleach called Zoom, and Zoom's been around for a long time, but they've come out with a night light and a new chemical, a new formula, and so it works much, much better. And so that's what we've been using. And here's one of the main things that speeds up the whole process is this light. And so we are able to place this little device on the light. Then we're able to place this in the patient's mouth to retract their lips. And all you have to do is lay there, and we put on some little sunglasses to keep bright lights out of your eyes.
Oh, look at, too cool there.
And then we shine the light on there. We paint the bleach on your teeth, and you just sit there for 15 minutes. Take a nap, listen to music, enjoy it. We can do up to four or five sessions 15 minutes at a time. Each time we do one session, we rinse it all off, we give you a mirror. We let you look and say you like that or you want more. If you want more, we go again, and we just keep going until basically you're happy.
All right, and then that's in one setting or-
That's one setting.
... do you have to keep coming back? Wow!
No, we do have a setup that goes with it where we make trays, and the trays go in your mouth. What you get here in the office can be not accelerated, but enhanced a little bit by the trays and some take home bleach. It's kind of two systems in one.
Okay, now are you going to have to change those habits once you do this, because everybody likes their coffee and tea and all those dark drinks that probably stained the teeth in the first place.
Yeah, tea, coffee, and wine are the top three, and everybody does that. But anything that'll stain a T-shirt will definitely stain your teeth. So sure, we all go home. We go back to our bad habits, so it comes again, but-
That's where that comes in.
That's where this helps a lot, because once a week, once a month, once every six months, you put the tray back in and it keeps... kind of like doing highlights in your hair.
What about sensitive teeth? People are going to be screaming or squealing when they drink something cold?
Well, we have had for years sensitivity to bleaching. This is far and away the best system I've ever used, and so far... we've been doing this now about six months... we've only had one patient with some sensitivity, and it was minor. In general, we don't have any sensitivity is what I'm trying to say.
It's come a long way since it first came out.
New chemical, new everything makes a big improvement.
Time for some white choppers.
There you go.
Thank you so much.
